Workout With a Weighted Vest

There seems to be a lot of buzz online about working out with weighted vests. However, I find that a weighted vest is used best in exercises when you need to carry a lot of weight close to your body and not as an addition to a cardio workout.

I use a 40 lb XVest for weighted dips, pull-ups, high-rep squats, glute ham sit ups but not for running. I find that it is too hard on my knees to use for running.

A weighted vest is really convienient to use when you are combining exercises together like pull-ups, dips and squats, where a dipping belt would get in the way.

Weighted vests are relatively expensive so be sure you are going to use it before you buy it. No one likes an expensive piece of equipment lying unused in your home gym.
