Staying hydrated doesn't really sound like that much of a hot workout tip but if you forget to drink water your workout will suffer. Some people spend a great deal of time mapping out their time in the gym and forget about their time outside of the gym. Workout progress is made outside of the gym resting, eating right and staying hydrated.
There are so many different schools of thought on how much water to drink everyday. However, all of them are far to general to go by since you may need more or less water depending on your workout type, time and air temperature.
Obviously, if you are pulling a hard 10K row in 85 degree heat you will need more than if you are walking on a treadmill up a gentle incline for 20 minutes. However, don't head to the gym with that one water bottle that you always bring, be sure to bring more water than you think you need so you always have enough. If you feel sluggish after your workout try drinking another glass of water and see if that helps.
